It thrills me to introduce you to Jill from Kitchen Fun With My 3 Sons, my guest today. She makes amazingly cute food to share with her young boys and I am always in awe of her creativity. There is so much fun going on in her kitchen and on her blog and if you haven't visited her site, you absolutely should check it out.
Hello...my name is Jill and I have a blog called Kitchen Fun With My 3 Sons that I share with my 3 little boys. We are so excited to be guest posting today for Hungry Happenings! Beth is so talented and always amazes me with her creations. She has so many fun ideas and everything she makes is just so perfect! We started our blog about this time 1 year ago and we have had so much fun with it! We make lots of fun food including Breakfast, Lunches, Dinners, Treats, Snacks, etc...a bit of everything! I have always made fun cookies, cakes, and other goodies for years, but I started including lunches, dinners, snack ideas to get my kids to try new foods. My middle child has always been such a picky eater and making fun food has opened up a whole new world of eating for him! He will try about anything if we make something fun out of it. It helps a lot to get the kids in the kitchen to help make things. They are usually proud of their food creation and will gladly eat or at least try what they make. We cater mostly to kids, but we also include things for adults as well. We post about 4-5 times a week so there are a lot of fun food ideas to look at. We also share some other fun things from time to time like crafts, party ideas, recipes, and our hand made costumes...but we are mostly a fun food blog. We have a weekly link party on Fridays called Kitchen Fun and Crafty Friday link party and also have a weekly Fun Finds Friday where we get to share a round up of our favorite finds that we found that week! We would love for you to stop by and check us out! kitchenfunwithmy3sons.com
We decided to make a Baby Bird Lunch to share with all of the wonderful Hungry Happenings readers today. Sometimes we like to get really artsy in the kitchen and we spend some extra time, but we also like to include lots of easy and simple ideas like this Baby Bird Lunch. Having 3 little boys leaves me little time to get things done, so I like to make things quick and easy to share with busy moms just like me! We chose egg salad for this lunch because egg salad is a tricky food to get kids to eat, but this Birdy Lunch might just do the trick! This is very easy to make. All you need is... 1 or 2 pieces of bread (depending on how big your bread is) Egg Salad 1 Baby Carrot 1 Raisin Pretzel Sticks We cut our bread in a circle with kitchen scissors. My bread was a smaller piece or else I would have just used a round cookie cutter. We cut out the wings, body, and feathers from the scraps. Place the bread cut outs on your plate and the pretzel sticks on the bottom for the nest...
After you boil the eggs before you make the egg salad, cut off the ends of 1 egg to make the eyes. Make your favorite egg salad and just spread that on the cut out bread pieces. Place on the eyes and cut 1 raisin in half for the pupils. Cut off the ends of the mini carrot with a knife to make the feet and beak. It's that easy and the kids will love it! Here are my little boys with their Baby Bird Lunch creation! No telling how many things I had stacked on my head to get a picture of them all looking at me!:)
You could also throw in a fun treat and put a gummy worm in his mouth!
Thank you so much Beth for letting us share one of our creations with your readers today! We would love for you to stop by Kitchen Fun With My 3 Sons and say hi!
