One of my readers wrote me to tell me that she squealed when she opened her copy of Woman's World Magazine this month and couldn't wait to write and congratulate me for having my Snack Cake Penguins published. I had yet to see the magazine, but have to admit that when I did finally see it, I squealed too!
I am so honored and incredibly excited to have my Snack Cake Penguins, not only featured in, but on the cover of Woman's World Magazine. What's even more amazing is that my little penguins are sharing the cover along with Karen Tack and Alan Richardson's Emotipops from their Cupcakes, Cookies and Pie, Oh, My book. How cool is that?
Two days ago, I had yet to tell my husband about the magazine when I had to send him and our exchange student out to get the groceries we so desperately needed, as I was still not well enough to get out of bed. The cupboards were bare. My list was quite thorough, but I forgot to add Woman's World Magazine.
Our exchange student remembered to look for it, only she didn't remember the magazine's name. She had heard my friend and I talking about my picture (of the recipe) being on the cover. All she heard was "my picture" and assumed it was my smiling face, not my cute little penguins donning the cover. So she told my husband, who was in total disbelief that I'd ever want my face on the cover of a magazine (I hate having my picture taken,) but he followed her lead and combed through every single magazine at the check out counter, looking for me!
They came in with the groceries and a lovely bouquet of flowers and a Get Well Soon balloon - so sweet, but no magazine. I couldn't ask them to rush back out to get one, so I had to patiently wait another day to see it and couldn't wait to share it with all of you.

That's so fantastic and exciting. Congratulations on a HUGE accomplishment. Hope you are feeling better too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kate. I'm on the mend, hoping to be completely better very very very soon!
